Prestashop Support

Sello has previously offered hosting of webshops, but we will phase out this service in 2022 to exclude it completely in 2023. To facilitate the change of web hosting, we have teamed up with PrestaShop Support and fixed a unique offer for customers who go to them via Sello.

With PrestaShop support, you can start a store with a ready-made connection to Sello. They will help you get all your products, categories, and previous text pages in place (If you have a previous Prestashop store via Sello). All you have to do is create a new banner on the home page. But that is also something the team at PrestaShop Support can help you with if you don’t want to do it yourself.

A newer and more modern version

It is important to keep in mind when you move your Prestashop that you are simultaneously upgrading to a new Prestashop installation with version 1.7 or newer. If you have a version that is 1.6 or older, it only works with PHP 5.6, which has large security gaps and is very easy to hack.

What do you mean by PHP?

PHP is a server-side scripting language with open source that many developers use for web development. Almost all websites today use PHP. WordPress and other content management systems like Drupal, Joomla, Magento, and Prestashop are all built on PHP. The older PHP you have, the greater the risk of intrusion. The proportion of web hosts that manages sites that do not support PHP 8 is thus minimal. In other words, when you upgrade and move your shop, you need to make it a brand new Prestashop version so you get a new PHP version.
